Is. 61:4<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They&#8221; were\u00a0 previously referred to as poor [afflicted, humble, oppressed], broken-hearted, captive, bound, and in mourning, words that also describe people who have experienced spiritual abuse. (Is. 61:1-2) They were given beauty for their ashes, joy instead of mourning, and a spirit of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness. (v. 3)\u00a0 Those who have been harmed and restored to wholeness are the ones who will repair and rebuild.
