In Ez, 34, where sheep have been scattered because of the unfaithfulness of shepherds, God declares: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. vs. 11-12
Lord, we thank you that you are the Good Shepherd, who lays down your life for your sheep. You’ve invited us to join you in your mission through prayer, so I hold those scattered sheep before you by name. Help me to carry them in my heart as you do. Show me specific actions I can take to be join you in your mission of re-gathering. Amen.
