Real repentance requires repair

By December 4, 2023No Comments

Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.” Luke 19:8 NASB1995

Repentance shows itself in deeds, not mere words. Repentance in situations in which  we have defrauded someone else of what was rightfully theirs for our own benefit —and we can do that many ways–requires more than saying, “I’m sorry.”  It requires that we do everything in our power to repair what we have damaged and restore what we have taken.
